WILDLIFE ITINERARY (13N/14D)

 

Destinations Covered: Dibrugarh – Tinsukia – Namdapha National Park – Dibru Saikhuwa National Park – Kaziranga National Park – Nameri National Park –Guwahati

 

Day 01: Dibrugarh (Flight) : Dibrugarh – Tinsukia

Morning after breakfast transfer to airport for the flight to Dibrugarh . Arrive at Dibrugarh airport Welcome to North east part of India!! Meet and greet upon arrival and transfer to Tinsukia ( 50 kms / 1 hrs ). Upon arrival Tinsukia check-in at the hotel If flight is on time we will spend some time at Borajan to see some birds and primates. We will stay in a hotel at Tinsukia. Stay overnight at the hotel. 

 

Day 02: Namdapha Tiger Reserve
Today we will drive (5-6 hours) to Namdapha Tiger Reserve. At Deban, we will look out for the beautiful and long-tailed sibia. Here we will spend the night at Deban in tents or Rest house. At night we will hear the calls of the mountain scops owl, collared and asian barred owlet. We will also try to spot the Namdapha flying squirrel and the shy slow loris near the Rest house. Stay overnight at the Camp / Deban Guest House. 

 

Day 03: Namdapha Tiger Reserve
We will stay at fully serviced camps for night at Haldibari, Hornbill and beyond. Here we will try to see the beautiful nuthatch, green cochoa, pin-tailed green & mountain imperial pigeon, black-headed shrike babbler, snowy-throated & white hooded babbler, wreathed hornbill etc. Stay overnight at the camp at Hornbill. 

 

Day 04: Namdapha Tiger Reserve

Morning after breakfast see the beautiful nuthatch, green cochoa, pin-tailed green & mountain imperial pigeon, black-headed shrike babbler, snowy-throated & white hooded babbler, wreathed hornbill etc. Stay overnight at the camp at Haldibari.

 

Day 05: Namdapha Tiger Reserve
Today we will trek back, 04 hrs. soft trek from Haldibari to Deban and last 01 hrs. drive back to Deban by Jeep and spend the night at the Camp / Deban Guest House.

 

Day 06: Namdapha Tiger Reserve – Tinsukia
We will spend the early morning birding near Motijheel. Then drive back to Tinsukia for night stay. Stay overnight at the hotel. 

 

Day 07: Tinsukia – Dibru – Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary – Tinsukia
We will spend the day at Dibru-Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary looking for Jerdon’s babbler, marsh babbler and black-breasted parrotbill in the grasslands. We will stay at Tinsukia for the night. Stay overnight at the Tinsukia

 

Day 08: Tinsukia – Kaziranga National Park ( 300 kms / 5 hrs )
Today we will drive to Kaziranga and (enroute see the various tea garden from the road side)and upon arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon Safaris will be in Jeeps inside Kaziranga National Park (Totally depend on the time permit). Stay overnight at the resort. 

 

Note: This is for your information that elephant ride and jeep safari and forest entry are regulated and controlled by the forest dept. Govt. of Assam. As such we do not have any control for booking of elephant seats and entry by jeeps

 

Day 09: Kaziranga National Park

Early morning elephant safari. Followed by two rounds of jeep safari inside the Kaziranga National Park. Overnight in Kaziranga.

 

Day 10: Kaziranga National Park

Morning & Afternoon Safaris will be in Jeeps inside Kaziranga National Park and spend the days in the forest looking out for Pallas’s fish eagle, pied harriers, Bengal florican, greater adjutant stork etc. Stay overnight at the resort. 

 

Day 11: Kaziranga National Park – Nameri Tiger Reserve ( 125 kms / 2 & 1/2 hrs )
We spend the early morning at Panbari and then we will drive to Nameri Tiger Reserve to get a glimpse of the rare white-winged duck and wreathed hornbill. Stay overnight at the Eco camp. 

 

Day 12: Nameri Tiger Reserve
The whole day will be spent birding at Nameri and looking for the Ibisbills and other species. Stay overnight at the Eco camp. 

 

Day 13: Nameri Tiger Reserve – Guwahati ( 220 kms / 5 hrs )
After early morning birding , later we drive to Guwahati , on arrival transfer to hotel. rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the Hotel. 

 

Day 14: Guwahati – Delhi ( Flight )

Morning transfer to airport to connect flight to Delhi.

ITINERARY –(Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland & Assam)

Best time to visit: Nov till April.

 

Day 01: ARRIVE DIMAPUR – KOHIMA (80km/03 hrs) (Nagaland)

 

Arrive Dimapur.  And the drive to Kohima. If time permits visit local market. Overnight.

 

Day 02: KOHIMA – visit KHONOMA VILLAGE (Nagaland)

 

After breakfast today we drive to Khonoma village via Kohima, a place renowned for its valour and courage. The Khonoma gate tells the story of British infiltration into Naga hills. After lunch, late afternoon visit the famous war cemetery, a symbolic memorial raised as citation for the supreme sacrifice made by the officers and men of the Allied forces during World War II. Come back to Kohima. Overnight.

 

Day 03: KOHIMA – MOKOKCHUNG (160 km/6 hrs) (Nagaland)

 

After breakfast we will be going to Mokokchung in the north-central Nagaland. This district is inhabited by the AO Tribe. The journey will take about 6 hours. Enroute visit UNGMA AND LONGKHUM VILLAGE.  On reaching Mokokchung we will check into Tourist Lodge. Overnight.

 

Day 04: MOKOKCHUNG – MON (220km/8 hrs) (Nagaland)

 

After breakfast drive to Mon. Our drive to Mon in Nagaland will be through lush green valley of the tea estates of Assam. The journey will take about 8 hours. This district is inhabited by the KONYAK TRIBE. Check into Hotel on arrival. Overnight

 

Day 05: MON (Nagaland)

 

After early breakfast visit drive to Longwa village on the Indo-Burma border. Walk in the village and learn about the Konyak Nagas. Today we will provide packed lunch. And then from here drive over to another traditional village of the Konyaks, Hongphui village. Return to Mon. Overnight.

 

Day 06: MON (Nagaland) – DIBRUGARH (Assam) (180 km/07 hrs)

 

After early breakfast drive to Dibrugarh. On arrival check into hotel. Evening visit Jokai Village. Overnight

 

Day 07:  DIBRUGARH (Assam) – ALONG Via PASIGHAT (Arunachal Pradesh) (280 km – 8 hours approximately)

 

After breakfast drive to Along. On arrival in Along and accommodation in the reserved rooms for the night. Enroute visit Adi Miniyong villages.

 

Day 08:  ALONG (Arunachal Pradesh)

 

After breakfast visit Galo villages. Overnight.

 

Day 09:  ALONG – DAPORIJO (160 km – 8 hours) (Arunachal Pradesh)

 

Breakfast and departure to Daporijo , along the way stop to visit the villages of tagin tribes, Arrive Daporijo and accommodation at Hotel. Overnight.

 

Day 10:  DAPORIJO  –  ZIRO (160 km – 8 hours) (Arunachal Pradesh)

 

Breakfast and departure for Ziro , along the way visit to the tribes of the Hill Miri who practice shifting cultivation, and Nishis or Dafla, ancient warriors of Mongolian origin who live in villages made ​​up of bamboo houses, also 70 meters long, where cohabiting couples. Arrival in Ziro check into hotel. Overnight.

 

Day 11: ZIRO (Arunachal Pradesh)

 

Full day visit to the tribal community of Apatani, grouped in about twenty villages. The Apatani are a peaceful tribe of Mongolian origin, who developed an advanced technique of rice cultivation in terrace. Their social system is strictly divided into nobles and slaves. Custom women’s tattooing the face with vertical lines of blue and carry the plates as nasal ornament. Overnight at Ziro.

 

Day 12:  ZIRO (Arunachal Pradesh) – MAJULI (Assam) (150 km – 6 hours + 01 hr ferry)

 

After breakfast transfer to Majuli, enroute visit the village of Nishi tribe. And later take a punctuated by a local ferry crossing of tributaries of powerful Brahmaputra, takes you to Majuli, the largest river island in the world (900 km²), inhabited by the Mishing, Arunachal Pradesh and has preserved a unique culture and lifestyle. Overnight at Majuli.

 

Day 13:  MAJULI – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (01 ½ ferry + 110 km/03 hrs) (Assam)

 

After breakfast, at Majuli visit Kamalabari Satra, Mask making center and Auni Ati Satra. Afternoon head to Kaziranga National Park, a paradise for greater Indian one horned Rhinoceros as well as a home to Elephants, tigers, water buffaloes and many species of birds. On arrival, we will check into Hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Day 14: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (Assam)

 

We will have an early morning exploration of the park by an elephant safari. Apart from the rhino, other animals that you may encounter in the safari are hog deer, swamp deer, wild water buffalos, elephants – and if you are lucky, even tiger. Kaziranga is also home to pelicans, storks and darters – as there are numerous water bodies to be encountered inside the Park. With a variety of migratory and resident birds darting from tree to tree, the safari in Kaziranga will offer you an opportunity to observe these avian varieties – along with their mammalian counterparts – very closely. We will return to the resort for breakfast. Mid morning, venture into the park for a Jeep safari. Will have our lunch at the resort –Post lunch, we will again venture into the park for a Jeep safari. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

 

Day 15: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK – GUWAHATI AIRPORT (230 km/ 05 hrs) (Assam)

 

After breakfast transfer to Guwahati Airport for onward journey.

Tea factories are closed from mid November to end March due to tea leaves not plucked in sufficient quantities.

ITINERARY

Day 01: ARRIVE GUWAHATI

Flight before 12:00 noon is recommended.

Arrive Guwahati. Meet and assist at the airport. On arrival check into Hotel. If time permits,Today visit Guwahati Tea Auction Center, The largest auction center for CTC tea in the world. Experts in the tea line will explain all your queries, if you have any. (Tea Auction Center is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only)

 

Day 02: GUWAHATI – JORHAT

(Drive from Guwahati to Jorhat – 320 kms/6 ½ hrs)

 

After breakfast drive to Jorhat. Enroute visit Tea estate at Sonapur.

 

On arrival at Jorhat, check into hotel. Overnight at Jorhat.

 

Day 03: JORHAT

 

AM visit the Tocklai Tea Research Station where you can have an insight on the latest trends of tea plantation and manufacture, see miniature tea machinery and also a tea museum. It is worth mentioning that Tocklai Tea Experimental Station is one of the leading tea research stations in the world and is funded by the Government of India and Indian Tea Association. (Saturday and Sunday closed)

 

Afternoon go for a short visit of the Gymkhana Club near Jorhat town. The Jorhat Gymkhana Club is one of the oldest institutions in India and has an impressive history. The Jorhat Gymkhana Club boasts of an impressive accomplishment of having the world’s third oldest golf course. It has a 18-hole golf course and a unique tradition of an annual pony race, popularly known as the Jorhat Race. The first plane ever in the North-East landed in its grounds in 1928, and the first jeep in Assam was also displayed at the club’s ground.

 

After the Gymkhana Club visit we will drive back to your hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 04: JORHAT – DIBRUGARH

(Drive from Jorhat to Dibrugarh – 143 kms/3½ hrs)

 

Drive to Dibrugarh (143 km / 3 hrs) and check into Hotel. PM walk around Dibrugarh market. Overnight.

 

Day 05: DIBRUGARH

 

Today we will have another tea tour visiting tea gardens and factory visit where you can see tea manufacturing process. You can try your hand at plucking tea leaves. Watch the tea being brought to the factory and see the whole process of manufacturing from withering to Crushing, Tearing and Curling in the CTC machines to drying and packaging.

 

Day 06: DIBRUGARH AIRPORT

 

Transfer to Dibrugarh airport for flight to onward journey.

Overview

Day 01: Arrive Dibrugarh. Transfer to Tinsukia , 44kms/1hr

Arrival at Dibrugarh Airport. On meeting our representative, you will be transferred to Tinsukia (44kms / 1 hrs). On arrival you will have a boating  into Maguribeel  for your late afternoon birding. Option to visit Barekuri village to see the Hoolock Gibbon – a fewl families  co–exist into the village. Overnight at hotel or Eco-camp.

 

Day 02: Dibrugarh – Dibru-Saikhowa National Park- Jorhat

 

Early morning drive to the Guijan range of Dibru-Saikhowa National Park – a riverine park and a biodiversity hotspot situated on the southern bank of the River Brahmaputra. In the afternoon drive straight to Jorhat (190 kms / 5 hrs). Overnight at Hotel or Heritage Properties in Jorhat.

 

Day 03: Dibrugarh – Kaziranga National Park

 

Early morning drive to Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary (22 kms/ 40 mins). Explore the Sanctuary and thereafter drive to Kaziranga National Park (100 kms/2½ hrs). We reach the park late in the afternoon and stay overnight at resort or similar.

 

Day 04: At Kaziranga National Park

 

Early morning we take an elephant safari in the central range of the park followed by a jeep safari after breakfast to the western range of the park. In the afternoon after lunch, we visit the eastern range of the park by jeep. Overnight at the resort.

 

Note : The Park remains open from 1st week of Nov to end April only.

 

Day 05: Drive to Nameri National Park

 

Early morning we go for a nature drive in Panbari range – a reserve forest and a natural corridor to the adjoining Karbi Hills. We see woodland birds like the Shama, Paradise Flycatcher etc. After lunch we depart for Nameri National Park (120kms/3h) and stay overnight at the Eco Camp on the outer fringes of the National Park.

 

Day 06:  Full Day at Nameri National Park

Early morning and afternoon go for a nature walk into the park for birding and wildlife sightseeing. Option to have river rafting into the Jia Bhorali river either in the morning or in the afternoon in lieu of one session of the jungle walk. Overnight.

 

Day 07: Nameri- Orang National Park-Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary

 

After the early breakfast, drive to Orang National park (70kms /1 ½ hrs)- a miniature of Kaziranga National to take a jeep safari into the park. Later drive to Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary (40kms / 1 ½ hrs). Stay overnight at at Trea House of  Elephant friendly Organic Tea Farm, Dimakuchi.

 

Day 08: Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary- Manas National Park

 

Morning Explore the Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary – known for rare pigmy hog habitate and other wild-animals. Later drive to Manas National Park (80kms /2hrs). Overnight at Resort in Bansbari Range.

 

Day 09: At Manas National Park

 

Early morning go for an elephant safari. After breakfast, explore the park in an open jeep.  In the evening, go for a nature walk in and around the park. Overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 10: Manas National Park-Guwahati-Fly out

 

After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport (140 kms/3hrs) to board the flight for onward destination.

Day 01: GUWAHATI – TEZPUR (Assam)

(Drive from Guwahati to Tezpur – 200 kms/ 4 ½ hours)

 

Arrive Guwahati by air. From Guwahati transfer to Tezpur. On arrival check into hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight.

 

Day 02: TEZPUR (Assam) – DIRANG (Arunachal Pradesh)

(Drive from Tezpur to Dirang – 200 kms/7 ½ hours)

 

Transfer to Dirang at an altitude of 6000 ft. and check into Hotel. Evening visit Dirang town and local market. Overnight.

 

Day 03: DIRANG – TAWANG (Arunachal Pradesh)

(Drive from Dirang to Tawang – 145 kms, 7 hours)

 

After breakfast we drive to Tawang at 10200 ft. (145 kms, 7 hours). On the way we will be crossing the Sela Pass at 13476 ft, the highest motorable pass in the Northeast. Also visit Jaswant Ghar and before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall. Reach Tawang and check into Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Tawang.

 

Day 04: TAWANG (Arunachal Pradesh)

 

Today we will visit the famous 400 years old Tawang Monastery. Also visit the nunneries locally called Ani Gompa and Urgelling Monastery, 460 years old Monastery established by lama Urghen Sangpo Bhumthang. It is also the birthplace of His holiness 6th Dalai Lama.

 

Intermingled with the lamas (monks). Come back to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon visit a MONPA village. Evening visit market. Overnight.

 

Day 05: TAWANG – BOMDILA (Arunachal Pradesh)

(Drive from Tawang to Bomdila -180 kms/7 hours)

 

Transfer to Bomdila today at an altitude of 8000 ft. Check into hotel on arrival. Afternoon sight seeing of Bomdila town includes visit to GRL Monastery (Upper Gompa) and market. Return to hotel. Overnight.

 

Day 06: BOMDILA – TEZPUR (Assam) (160 km/ 06 ½ hrs)

 

After breakfast drive back to Tezpur. On arrival check into hotel. If time permits, visit Agnigarh hills & Mahabhairab Temple. Overnight.

 

Day 07: TEZPUR – GUWAHATI AIRPORT (Assam) (200 km/ 04 hrs)

 

After breakfast transfer to Guwahati airport for onward journey.

GOLFING ITINERARY

Overview

Golf course in Northeast India is old as British raj colonial started during 19th century. Some of the most prominent figures of the British history have swung their clubs at different location of Assam and Meghalaya some half century ago. Shillong Golf Course is one of the highest course in India with 18 holes. Digboi Club, Gymkhana Club of Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Doomdooma and Rangapara hold the nostalgia testimony. However all these heritage courses lost its maintenance over the periods of times solely reserved for their premium members. So in view of this constraints, anybody who interested in Golf can visit and avail its temporary membership at Kaziranga Golf course ideally located in the midst of beautiful lush tea garden. One can spent quite few days staying into one of the Heritage Bungalows or recently annexed luxury cottages.

Day 01 :  Arrival at Guwahati.

Arrival at Guwahati. Meet and receive by our representative and proceed to Hotel. .

 

Day 02: Around Guwahati.

After breakfast visit Paltan Bazar vegetable and fish market. After that drive to Gorchuk Bazar. On the way to the Gorchuk Bazar, stop in famous ‘Pan’ (dry battle nut and green leaf) shop. Spend around 15-20 minutes to have sweet pan. After that drive to Gorchuk Bazar and spend approx one hour at Gorchuk Bazar (Market). You can buy some fern leaf, lemon, roselle leaf and taro leaf. After visiting all the market we will drive to Karbi and Bodo tribal village known as Garoguli village. We will stop in Karbi village head house. Ladies will be preparing to cook Karbi Traditional food for our clients and they can click picture as much as possible. In the mean time they can also walk around the village. Later drive back to Hotel at 6pm.

 

Day 03: Another day in Guwahati

Today after breakfast, we will start at 7am & drive to Kachari fish market and vegetable market. We meet an expert in local ethnic cuisines in the market and she also be joined with us. Later on around 9am we drive to Beltola Bazar and spend an hour and had a cup of tea and sweets. After all photography we drive back to Hotel at 10.15am. Again at 11.20am we drive to house with local ethnic cuisine expertise and spend the day and also enjoyed Assamese lunch. Drive back to hotel and reach at around 5.30pm.

 

Day 04: Guwahati- Driv to Tezpur via Udalguri

 

Drive to Tezpur (180kms / 5 hrs). On half way , stop at Udalguri to visit local weekly market and find the selling of Eri silk caterpillar and other locally produced vegetables.  Visit the shop with vibrant fabric colour of clothe and Dokhonas (women dress), Aronai (Mafler ) for photography.  Later visit bodo village and interact with the farmers and eri silk raiser in the village. Llater proceed to small tea garden spread over the border area inbetween India and Bhutan. Bodo ethnic food served there for your taste. Thereafter at around 2.30pm, proceed to Tezpur (2 hrs). Check in at the hotel. Dinner at outside in an Assamese house in ethnic Assamese style. Overnight at hotel.

 

 

Day 05: Tezpur – Kaziranga

 

After the early breakfast drive to Kaziranga (80kms / 2 hrs). First visit the Orchid centre to see the biodiversity of orchid of around 800 species showcased in green house. Know the glimpse of Assamese history, textile of Assam, Medicinal biodiversity of Northeast India and also enjoy brief demonstration of traditional dance of ethnic group of Kaziranga (subject to availability). Post lunch check in at hotel. Afternoon at 2pm, go for jeep safari into the park. Back to hotel. Dinner at Assamese village prepared by locals.

Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 06: Kaziranga-Guwahati Fly Out

 

In time drive to Guwahati (240kms / 4-5 hrs). Enroute lunch at local restaurant. Proceed to Airport to board the flight for onward destination.
