Travel Advisory

Notes & Important Points:

 

Transportation:

  • Luggage carrier is not advisable at Arunachal Pradesh and other hill sector.
  • The air condition of the vehicle will only operate in the plains.
  • In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic.
  • Guest with adventures mind should travel Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland & Mizoram.

 

Accommodation and its amenities:

  • Hotels mainly in Arunachal Pradesh viz., Bomdila, Dirang, Ziro, Daporijo, Along, Pasighat etc. and in Nagaland (except Kohima) are non- star category.
  • Hotels in hill station do not have lift.
  • As the room allotment is decided by the hotel staff, room will be allotted by the hotel management, room with view (if any) cannot be guaranteed.
  • The amenities provided in the hotels included in the tour may vary from destination to destination. Some hotels do not provide extra bed.
  • Room heaters and geysers may not work in some places due to voltage fluctuation especially in Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland.
  • Room heaters are provided on extra cost by some hotels.
  • Road side eateries are often looked after by the working people coming from the nearby village areas. Thus the facilities & services available are not often at par with the eateries of other tourist places.
  • Kindly be updated that the area of North-East India, though rich in Nature, is still developing. The facilities available are basic, unlike those available in other parts of India.

 

 

Entry Formalities:

  • All the foreigners are required to have the Protection Area Permit or PAP issued for entering into Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Any Domestic tourist (Indians) coming to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram has to obtain an Inner Line Permits.
  • In Nagaland, especially in Mon sector, guests have to personally report to the local Police Station before Check In & after Check Out.
  • In Bumla – Pass (Arunachal Pradesh), permits are issued by the local authority, please note that foreign nationals are not allowed to visit Bumla Pass.
  • A recent Government regulation requires Indian and Foreign residents to carry proof of identity at the time of check-in. The proof of identity can either be the guest’s Driving License, Passport, Voter Id or Adhaar Card. Pan Card will not be accepted as valid ID proof.

 

Communication:

  • Mobile services may not be active in all destinations.
  • Internet and Wi-Fi facilities are available only at some places. In some places/ Hotels services is available on request or on extra payment.
  • Credit Cards/Debit Cards are not acceptable in many places and money changer facilities are available only in Assam.

 

Escort / Guide:

  • We do not have Licensed Guides in this region. They are more of an escort.
  • Your are expected to communicate in English comfortably better than the Hindi and other regional languages. Foreign linguistic guide / interpreter are not available in this sector.

 

Dress and Clothe and Health Concern:

  • It is highly recommendable to carry warm clothes, umbrella, rain coats, torch etc., as the weather is unpredictable in some parts.
  • During safaris at the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries, we advise you to wear light colour clothes, hats, sunscreen lotion, etc.
  • Tours are not recommended for those with Heart and Asthma problem/Knee pain/Motion Sickness/Blood Pressure/Back Pain as it could be of high risk and medical facility is limited.

 

Photography/ Videography:

  • Photography the vital installation and Army/Military Camps , check gates are prohibited.
  • While taking photo to the tribal face, it is suggested to take prior permission from them.

Cultural Shocks:

  • Smoking in public places is prohibited.
  • You are expected to take off the any footwear like shoes, socks etc. into the religious places.
  • Wear full sleeve top or cover as you enter these places.

 

Uncertainty:

  • Every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary. However, in view of landslides, heavy snowfall, natural calamities, local strikes, sudden oil price hike, etc., which are beyond our control, all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes and any additional cost will be borne by the guests directly.
  • There is no pre-booking system for the Elephant rides/Jeep safaris at the National Parks. For booking of elephant ride, guest had to report physically and produce a valid ID proof during booking time at the elephant Ride Counter & the same have to be produced the next day during the riding time, otherwise the ride will be cancelled. At Kaziranga National Park, the Elephant ride Counter opens at evening time only. Also, the forest department, Govt. of Assam, issue Computerized Entry Pass with Bar Code at Kaziranga with photo verification of guest or tour escort (if you hire a tour escort).
